craigmrosenthal Deeply atmospheric and overall bizarre album. A great first album from SBW with a style that would later be perfected on Sunbirds. Favorite track: Turn Into Steers.

John Chaos Alexander Well constructed Mid-paced Death/Grindcore. The kind of corrosive music that's perfectly erodes the silence away while playing in the background as you're , Slowly Building Weapons (Tada!)
Favorite track: Rotating Gears Out Of The Ghost Womb.

Samie Bufalino stumbled across this forgotten old Australian gem. Favorite track: Opening And Sucking On Windows Of Your Fuselage.

about

'Nausicaä' the debut album by Slowly Building Weapons - acclaimed by the critics, praised by thier peers and a devastating commercial failure.

"Nausica sounds fucking huge, and has an atmosphere so thick you'd swear it'd crush your lungs if you dared try and breathe it in. Slowly Building Weapons deliver carefully planned and devastating songs, with their focus on remaining mid-paced upset by an occasional desire to pick the beat up, or to sink into haunting ambience and sludgy drones – all the while somehow keeping the average song length at around the three minute mark. Classifying themselves as 'big chord-core', they are influenced by the likes of Curl Up And Die, Will Haven, Converge, Old Man Gloom, Coalesce and Deftones - but the end result is a niche sound that they can proudly call their own."
